Is avg grisoft free edition antivirus 100 per cent effective in its protection of my computer?

Just like what everyone else said, no anti-virus software is 100%.

AVG is very good though, and I've been using it for several years now, and really only use it, I recently purchased an HP desktop that has Norton on it, and once the temporary subscription to this Norton runs out, I'll remove it from my machine and install AVG, without a second thought.

One of the things about AVG that's alot different than other options, very low overhead, no alot of cpu cycles, or ram used with it running in the background. And it's FREE!!!

Nothing is 100% effective, take note that it is a free edition, but it is Good for Virus detection and protection..

since it is free, it is limited only to virus issues, not in malware, adware, spyware, keyloggers..etc...

Actually this report came from Kaskersky and there is not an antivirus with 99-100% detection rate, Kaspersky has 97.9, Second is Norton with 96.8, Then McAfee with 91.6, Trend Micro 91.2 and Microsoft with 82.4% Detection Rate.
