I personally like the one from Grifsoft (AVGfree) download and also the one for adware. Make sure you try it. I use that and deleted the virus scanner that came with my computer. It will also update automatically.

not so free? anything but norton. try etrust.

I prefer Avast or AVG free edition. I use both and find them both excellent. In 4 years since I went with the free version, and got away from MacAfee and Norton I have not had a virus on any of my 13 computers.
