My computer was infected with the worm.win32.netsky virus yesterday, and I'm almost positive I got rid of it. I used SmitFraudFix, which found the harmful files and deleted them. I've run the MRT software, and it does not find any virus/worm/harmful properties on the computer, and neither does my AOL Spyware Protection program. There is a popup that comes up on my computer when I turn it on that says I still have the virus, and the fake Windows program XP Antivirus 2008 apparently downloaded itself onto my computer and won't go away. It has no place on my start menu where I can uninstall it, I can't right click and delete it on my taskbar, and I've tried deleting the files manually, but it says that the program is in use and therefore cannot be deleted.
My laptop is relatively new, and I really don't want it ruined by all of this mess. Any info on how to delete XP Antivirus 2008 or opinions on whether you think I still have the worm.win32.netsky would be extremely helpful! Thanks!
