For people who use Norton AntiVirus, I need your help?

My Norton AntiVirus program keeps saying that I need to update my Virus Protection and when I do run LiveUpdate it says all of my virus definitions are updated, however I still keep getting a red x in my status box saying that my virus definitions are not updated...what am I supposed to do about this problem...your help will be greatly appreciated thanx in advance!!!

I used Norton for several years, but in the past couple of years it has started to suck so badly. I would delete it from your computer.

Once you do that Windows will give you a warning that you have no virus protection. It will then show you a list of virus killers you can purchase. But most have a trial period of 60 days right up to one with a one year trial. Get that one and you won't have to think about viruses and spending money for another 12 months.

Ditch Norton though, it really sucks badly. I took it off my brand new Dell at work (last year) and the machine almost doubled in speed and stopped crashing all the time. Norton was actually worse than having a virus!

I've reviewed some answers and if you're using a trial version, this means you have to buy it to get an update. Some advise; Don't buy norton!!, instead go to FileHippo.com they have several freeware security apps. I use DefenderPro and it's great and cheap, but I can get just as good for FREE,( were talking ZoneAlarm, PCTools, Comodo, Avast, and so on).I researched norton, and it's not worth the cost,so save yourself some ducats and go freeware.
