Windows Vista vs. Antivirus Programs?

I am running Windows Vista and I have attempted to install the AT%26T Online Protection software, however, it says I have to uninstall McAfee. I have never had McAfee, and I have uninstalled my other antivirus program. I finally gave up on AT%26T Protection, so I attempted to install AVG, however it also says I have a antivirus/security program. I need to fix this, does anyone have any solutions in mind?

I have tried looking for anything through program files and control panel's uninstall function.

You may have had McAfee installed and forgot or it may have been installed when you first bougth the computer. and it is very hard to remove, and by the sound of things you realy have to so please use the removel tool from here:

Then what you are saing is you do not have any antivirus program installed right now.

f you dont have an antivirus it's going to telll you and if they do find an antivirus program they are going to tell you that.

You can choose if you want to register or not you can still run the test either way.
