Its probably just as good as any! Keep this minor detail in mind tho, anti virus software tends to make people believe they are immune to viruses. This is so far from the truth it aint funny! There is not one piece of virus protection software on the market that will catch it all! New viruses are coming out on almost a daily basis! It takes 2 months for a virus software company to even realize its out there at the very least! It takes another month for someone to produce removal software! If you are using file sharing sites, you WILL download malware garaunteed! Its not a matter of maybe, its a matter of when and you will find it slid right past your virus protection!

No. You'll need ONE decent AV (AVG not bad, but not the best). You also need ONE decent anti-malware/anti-spyware application - AVG does have a VERY good one of those, or Ad-Aware as a decent second (that one has a free version). Combined with a decent pop-up blocker (both IE7 and Firefox have one built in which is always the best option), and that is all you need. Oh - and a firewall, but Windows XP with SP2 has a decent firewall anyway - just make sure it is enabled.
