I personally don't like McAfee, but since you do, you can still have it (free) without being an AOL member:

PS...even though I don't like McAfee, it *does* look pretty good ;-)

Check out the latest issue of consumer reports--sept 2007 issue.
Kaspersky is the best.
if you go to the microsoft homepage you can download windows defender for free as long as you have an authentic copy of windows on your computer (came with computer or a program you bought in the store) we have mcafee but we got some kind of spyware it wouldnt remove from myspace so i went there and found it free instead of paying $30 for another program to do so

It not only gives complete solutions but also offers

free downloads of effective softwares which can detect

and eliminate all spy ware /virus /ad ware /Trojans completely.
AVG is the best free anti virus and it's not heavy on resources

It's smaller then NOD32

I give it a 10.
I have been told Avast is a good one. You can download the free one from the internet.
Actually, there's free antivirus software available that's grown to be pretty reputable. I've linked to a couple of them below. Hope this helps!
kaspersky or norton will be good choices
Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html
Hmmm try Symantec Anti-Virus protection it's really good. My uncle works in a computer store.. so he makes computers and he accualy checks up on ours and gives us new ones if the ones we have , have somthing wrong with it.. I'd use Symantec Anti-Virus he reccommends it to everyone ;)
free antivirus software are nice but they can only get you so far. if you really want to be protected, i suggest a trend micro product. actually, one of trend micro's products just recently got ranked number one on a list from the latest issue (sept 2007) of Consumer Reports magazine. As the magazine puts it, Trend Micro Internet Security 2007 "offers fairly inexpensive all-around protection". here's the complete list:

(1) Trend Micro ('PC-cillin') Internet Security 2007 (now referred to as "Trend Micro Internet Security 2007")

(2) Check Point ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite 7.0

(3) McAfee Total Protection 2007

(4) McAfee Internet Security Suite 2007

(5) Microsoft Live OneCare

(6) BitDefender Internet Security 10

(7) F-Secure Internet Security 2007

(8) Symantec Norton 360

(9) Symantec Norton Internet Security 2007
