I can't remove Norton Anti virus. Do I have to remove Yahoo online protection first?

I had Norton renewal installed in May and it never worked. I installed Yahoo online protection

with all I wanted but Now I can't remove or delete Norton Antivirus and Yahoo can't complete the installation until Norton is gone. In fact when I try to remove it through Add or Remove it locks up and I have to shut down and restart the computer. How can I rectify the situation because currently I have no virus protection.

U cant remove Norton urself from ur computer, To remove Norton, go to its website and look for Norton Removal Tool. Use that to remove Norton from ur computer completely. It will solve ur problem.

I had the same problem.I have windows 98. here's how i got rid of Norton (which I'll never buy again)

On the add/remove program screen 2 Norton entries showed. I tried removing the first which was for the firewall. No good

I had to reboot and then tried the other Norton entry and it worked. But the firewall program still showed on the add/remove screen. But by shutting down and restarting it too disappeared.

So, if there are 2 Norton entrees try to remove the other one
I dont like Norton either.I saw in the news something about peoples system getting hacked because of a Norton( Dr. Symentec), screw up! Seriously unstable Anti-virus plan goin on there.
Man, I HATED Norton. When I went to update the program, it completely screwed up the comp; not even the Circuit City guys could figure out what went wrong.

Try Windows Installer, it can help you remove those last traces of Nasty Norton.
