Is it safe to install both Spybot and Ad-aware?

I had a malware causing some havoc on my PC. Thanks to Yahoo answers someone reccommended Spybot which for now seemed to do the trick but Someone also suggested downloading both Spybot and Ad-Aware and Black Ice defender. I am not computer savvy and once installed 2 antivirus protection programs and that also caused some problems. so if anyone know if this is ok please let me know! Thanks

Yes it's actually recommended to have both. I am sending you a link to help you with other software and how to use it that will help you rid your PC of garbage. It sounds like alot to do but it's really worth it.

Another (paid) option would be to grab Webroot's SpySweeper and install that and remove both programs. SpySweeper picks up on the same malware/adware that Ad-Aware %26 Spybot do and then more. It also has a real-time scanner (meaning it is always scanning where the other two must be scanned manually)

I don't recommend Black Ice Defender as it is more for those that are computer savvy.

As for the two antivirus programs, it depends on which two antivirus programs that you are trying to run at the same time.

AntiVir Guard %26 AVG Antivirus, for instance, run extremely well together and offer higher protection combo-ed than ran alone. (however, you will should expect some slower load times on both Windows %26 programs in general)
