My computer is running very slowly.. maybe someone can answer a few questions for me....?

As i said my computer is running very slowly, I have downloaded games on here and different software that i no longer need but when i go into erase things im not sure of what to erase and what not to erase...

My questions are

what are the reasons that computers do run slowly??

how can i find out what programs i need on my computer when i go to add/delete...?

is there anywhere on the computer i can look to see what components i need specificly..

Additional details: I do have antivirus protection, so that is not the problem... and my computer is only 2 yrs old so i dont think that would be the problem either..

Okay so it sounds like you've bogged down the processor over burdening it with too many applications either running or running in the background, could also be you need to clean up some space in the harddrive lastly you could have some trojan running on it.

1.) What are the names of the programs you wish to un-install.

You need to know this so that you can un-install from the control panel , add\remove programs.

Try downloading MRU blaster this is a free utility that can clean up cookies and temp files, run a Anti- Spyware utiliy , such as Spybot or Adawre.
